Basic centerpiece flower arrangements
Making your own centerpiece flower arrangements are easy, fast and fun to do! Gather your supplies and put your imagination in gear because before you know it you will be finished with your first hand-made centerpiece flower arrangement. Ready, set, go!
Basic Centerpiece Design #1 Materials:
Large bunch of your favorite flowers.
Small bunch of small/filler flowers
Greenery floral foam
Shallow container or bowl
1. Wedge a wet piece of floral foam into a shallow container or bowl.
2. Determine finished height of arrangement and cut a few flowers and
greenery to that length. (These will be used for the center of the
arrangement)
3. Cut all other flowers and greenery about 1 to 2 inches shorter.
4. Start in the middle of the foam by placing the longest cut flower,
work outward and down in a circular fashion and place all other flowers.
5. Continue the process by doing the same with greenery.
6. Add filler flowers.
7. View arrangement from all sides and make any necessary adjustments.
8. Add water.
*Greenery may also be placed first followed by the flowers...experiment and see what works best for you!
Valentine's Day Centerpiece Flower Arrangement
How to Create an Irresistible Valentine’s Day Centerpiece:
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner which of course makes us think of love, romance and of course flowers! It seems this special day wouldn’t be complete without them. Flowers touch our souls and brighten our spirits which is why they have remained a popular choice for “lovebirds” all over the world!
Depending on your mood and the flowers you pick, you can make this arrangement whimsical or elegant, so gather what you need and let’s get started!
Supplies:
Store bought heart shaped basket (about 4 inches deep)
Florist foam
Plastic lining
Flowers ~at least two varieties
Larger flowers (all same color) such as carnations or roses for center and filler flowers for accent
Follow these simple steps to create your own Valentine’s Day Centerpiece:
1. Line heart shaped basket with heavy plastic
2. Cut a piece of florist foam in the shape of a heart~ foam should fill up entire basket
3. Soak foam in water and place it in the basket
4. Cut center flowers (carnations or roses) the same depth as the basket or slightly longer.
5. Stick these flowers into the foam in the shape of a heart~fill with enough flowers so no foam is showing.
6. Cut accent flowers to the same length and fill in around the heart shaped flowers until the basket is completely filled and no foam is showing.
7. Flowers should be flush with the top of the basket or slightly higher.
